i know so many girls in this sorority who are just unhappy. hot, fun, sure--but those who don't come in with a strong group of friends are excluded. there are definetly some jems, but the pressure to party is strong. turns a lot of girls sour.

Betas as individuals are very different than they are as a group. There isn't much disputing that they party hard, have lots of fun, and are on average pretty hot, but as a sisterhood they don't seem to have much of one.

Ok so for whatever reason I was curious about the last post. I decided to look up Kappa Beta Gamma. I was surprised. That person is totally right. Betas are not part of the Panhellenic Council sorority group at all. And all of their symbols are totally different from Kappa Beta Gamma. They are supposed to be lions or something. I am doing recruitment next semester and was kind of liking them, but now I'm not so sure. It seems like they are trying to be something they aren't? Or maybe they are trying hard NOT to be associated with the real Kappa Beta Gamma? I don't get it so now I'm wondering if I should try to find out about some other groups. This whole going Greek think is kind of stressful.

probably the least liked group by other sororities but most liked group by fraternities... they show off the group of hot girls they get, and literally no one knows the rest of their sorority. Wake also looks down on them because they still pretend to be Pi Phi

beta has taken a lot of odd girls especially in the past year which makes you wonder how they got in. some of them are psycho or painful to talk to.

On first glance Betas seem awesome- party all the time- no rules, no standards, no advisors watching. But then you sober up one day and realize that life isn't just one big party - you quickly realize that you totally messed up by passing up the real sororities. You realize everyone else has actual national organizations, alum connections, huge alum bases, career networking etc. Your alum connections are a handful of girls (mostly Canadians) who couldn't get into a Panhellenic group during real recruitment so they joined KBG (which on every other campus is not a part of Panhellenic, recruits on its own, and is like a club that takes anyone who is interested). And soon you realize you actually have no connection with those few KBG's either. All other KBG's call themselves Kappas, not Betas. They have a lion and stars, not an anchor. You realize that your Chapter was pretending to be Pi Phi's, but you certainly are not a Pi Phi. To the real world, you are basically nothing. Of course you can tell people what sorority you were in. You can even say it with lots of pride in your voice. They will nod politely because they have never heard of it, and if they look it up, they will see a pretty lame one. You might say your Chapter was once Pi Phi, but nobody will care. You had told yourself during recruitment (or Betas had convinced you when they dirty rushed you) that Greek life was just for your college days. But other sororities' alums have a lifetime of pride- their daughters are legacies, they meet and socialize and network. They hire each other and form lifetime bonds - even if they were in different Chapters. I heard someone say once that Beta's are one of a kind. That is actually true. They really aren't KBG's; they don't completely follow their ritual, identify with their symbols, or raise lots of money for their philanthropy. They aren't Pi Phi's (even though they wear shirts that say they are). They aren't a part of Panhellenic anywhere else, but Wake let's them join in. They use an anchor, but they aren't DG's. They are kind of nothing. I guess you could say they are like the popular crowd in high school. They are cool for the moment because they are the life of the party, but eventually everyone else grows up, moves on, and becomes successful. The "cool kids" are left with nothing but a bag of memories. Well, Betas are left with nothing but a hang over and a bag of Beta shirts that highlight that they have, well, pretty much nothing.

Beta as a whole is a group of girls who love to party. Unfortunately, this means they don’t completely “have it together”...not the best grades, not the most involved, not the most nice/compassionate, not the most composed. While there are some great girls in Beta, they seem to lack unity and sisterhood and I often hear from my Beta friends that they do not genuinely like most of the other girls in their sorority and would have rather chosen a sorority that has sisterhood outside of partying.

Supposedly top tier based on their ability to party. I see them as drunks and addicts that are unable to function without substances. Nasty for the most part.
