what not to discuss during recruitment

by: 4 B,s

1) Boys
2) Bible
3) Booze
4) Bank Account
Helpful tips on what not to say unless you want to get dropped. All houses deal with these topics differently and therefore should not be a talking point for incoming girls.

This may sound harsh or controversial but incoming girls need to know this. You can't know what the active you are speaking with and these types of topics are things you discuss with friends. Do yourself a favor and heed this advice.

This is a Christian University. You can talk about the Bible!

Also Bush, as in politics, is something to not talk about!

Why at Texas CHRISTIAN University can one not talk about the Bible? That is ridiculous.

I had not heard this when I went through recruitment. One reason I choose TCU was its church affiliation. I was told later this probably got me cut from the "party groups" because they don't want "prudes". I ended up in a top house that is considered academically focused and I wouldn't trade my sisters for anything. If you aren't your authentic self you may end up in a house where you are miserable. Be real and be happy with the like minded friends you will meet.

Be yourself and things will work out. I can't imagine there being a time during the hectic chanting, clapping, where are you from small talk that someone is going to break out in a sermon. You should be able to talk about things that matter to you though. Just use good judgement.

This post has some valid points but you need to be who you are during recruitment. If speaking to someone about your faith gets you cut then in the end that wasn't the group for you anyway.

This post is giving you honest information. I disagree with not being allowed to speak about faith but if that is your main focus join HIS

This is a pretty helpful post. It may be controversial to put this in writing but that doesn't make it false.

I would second this answer BUT I also agree with the post below. Do not pretend to be someone you aren't during recruitment or you will have 4 miserable years being surrounded by girls with different values. The letters on your shirt are in no way more important than the friendships and memories you will make being among friends.

I agree with this list in part but you have to be true to yourself. Being fake will only get you a house where you don't belong. You can "do fake" for 4 whole years.

There are so many other topics to talk about then you first meet someone. No matter your convictions you should follow this advise.
