How sorority tier impacts experience

by: Overview

Think of tiers as the category. Each sorority is a certain way and they are put in a category that is based off of their relevance, looks, personality, sisterhood, popularity, philanthropy, social life, and fraternity relations. So let’s start with what they are.

Top Tier in no order: (ZTA, CHI O, PI PHI, THETA, DG)
The group of sororities that are looked at as the best you can be in. They are the social butterflies, attractive, get immediate clout, are always invited to parties and events, great fraternity relations, are the typical experience you see in movies, have the best social life, and will be the most bang for your buck.

Middle Tier in no order: (AXO, SK, KAPPA, TRI DELT, G PHI)
The group of sororities that still have a ton to offer you. No immediate clout like the other one but considered solid girl next door once you tell someone your letters. They have a good mix of attractive girls, have a pretty good reputation, majority of them get invited to parties and events, have decent fraternity relations, are middle of the road, have a few odd girls but nothing major, and will still be a good sorority experience.

Bottom Tier in no order: (ADPI, PHI MU, KD - only bc new)
The group of sororities that are the least popular but maybe you don’t care about being relevant. Opposite of immediate clout people will wonder why you’re in a lower one or why you chose to join a new one. There can be good reasons for this but people will secretly be trying to gauge why. They are more mixed on if they are attractive, have some socially awkward or too shy girls, dont get invited to parties or events at a sorority level (obviously individual girls with invites can go), not any fraternity relations (no freshman date nights or mixers with frats), don’t do much, another in this category AOPI lost their chapter bc their nationals said the experience was so bad they couldn’t keep enough members.

Your letters don’t define you but it will set you up for a certain type of experience. You can still have a great time socially in a less popular one but it won’t be handed to you. You’ll have to make it happen based on your own connections bc your sorority won’t have any. If you end up in a sorority you don’t want, you can always drop and rush again in order to find the place you want to spend your time. Good luck and I hope you get the ones you want! :)

needs to have a tier between top and middle. theta is not top and kappa, tridelt and sk are better than middle.

And need another lower mid tier. Phi Mu is more equivalent to Gphi and AXO, and KD will likely be above ADPi.

Newer sororities just have a harder time squeezing in at a school like TCU, but nothing is wrong with them, other than that they haven’t been around long enough to develop a strong identity.

KD shouldn’t be categorized, especially since they aren’t seen as “less desirable” to join since 300 girls went through a separate recruitment and half got dropped.

This is the most immature, superficial post. What a joke! Who puts this much thought into sorority life at tcu
