This would be interesting for transfers and spring rushers to know.

If you're picking a fraternity or sorority based on who has the best grades then you're in Greek life for the wrong reason. Greek life is about brotherhood and sisterhood. Of course, grades are important, but if you make that the basis for your decision then you have missed the whole point of Greek life.

but still, knowing who's top in grades is still important to know that you have brothers and sisters who are at school to get an education and not to be drunken flunks

If you don't want people to know then obviously you aren't proud of yours. It does matter because the lower GPA groups are usually lower class too!
