rush

by: TCUfreshmangirl

There's a lot of posts on here about comparing the sororities... But i'd really love to know more about rush. Past experiences, advice, what to wear, or anything else you'd want to share about it for an incoming freshman. thanks!

First, please be your true self when you visit each house. There is no way for you or the girls in the house to make a real connection with you otherwise. This year will be the largest rush group in TCU history as last year was the year before...so honestly it will be long, hot, noisy, tiring days. Remember it passes quickly though. No matter what you think you know, houses change yearly with people graduating and pledging so houses improve and decline yearly. Put your best face on for each house. Be friendly, stay hydrated during you off time, wear shoes you can stand all day in and you might want a few face blotters...Hope these tips help.

bring flop flops to wear during breaks and run between houses in!!! you don't want to be stuck in heels all day especially if you're rushing to get to a next house in 5min

I like the post before-flip flops for sure. A fan held beach fan, face blotters and a small brush will help you make it through the long, hot day looking fresh.

This week will be one of the most exciting and stressful ever. Be yourself and try to enjoy all the girls you will meet. Every house has pluses so be open to meeting your sisters in all of them.

Be real when you go through rush-fake is obvious. Go in to each house with an open mind-things change yearly with the houses with graduation and new PC so past rumors do not always apply today. Respect each girls you speak with- chapters talk and if you are rude word gets around and doesn't make you as desirable of a recruit. The days are long and hot-bring flip flops for between houses and stay hydrated. You should only rush once-when you feel overwhelmed remember a new house of sisters is almost yours.

Rush is a wonderful time but also hectic, hot and stressful. Everyone feels the same. Be faithful to who you really are so the girls can get to know you, be friendly and respectful to everyone and know all the houses at TCU have things to offer. The main thing is making friends that will be there through thick and thin. Enjoy this amazing experience!

Rush will be one of the host exciting, exhausting and special times in your life. Be yourself and have genuine conversations with each person you meet in the houses. If you try to pretend to be something other than yourself you won't be happy where you end up. Don't go by rumors or what others think about a house but go with your values. Also be polite to EVERY person. If you are not word WILL get around. Go Greek!!!

Be real, be polite, if a house tries to dirty rush you that speaks loudly of their character they will not be honorable sisters in the future. Reminder flip flops for between houses, a hand fan, stay hydrated. Go into each house with no bias because YOU have to fit in with the girls. Never force a fit because you won't be happy.

When I saw this I wished that someone had told me some of these little tips like a hand held fan...It's almost a new year but this advise is still golden.
