Media/TV Greek Life Connections

I know Penn has a large representation in journalism and TV but there usually are very few media/TV jobs available compared to candidate pool size. How favorable would GL connections be in getting a backstage or writing job and which frats and srats usually have more creative types that feed into journalism and TV? I'

sorry for all these questions, Im pretty strong on doing a history major with cims minor (im a major history nerd)... does not being an english or communications major make any difference for Media/TV?

why is joining a frat your go to here? if you wanna work in journalism, do journalism. join the dp or 34th street. almost all of the journalists from penn cycled through a dp organization.

history is fine, major doesnt really matter as long as you understand reporting / your beat

if youre more entertainment focused, get involved with the cims department. greek life wont get you very far outside of consulting/finance/tech connections, especially if youre a guy

Yeah I’m a guy... I mean I def am curious about Greek life at Penn, wouldn’t mind joining a more chill house but was looking to see if specific frats or srats take more creative or writer types.

no. i'm saying specifically for journalism, get involved with the dp. entertainment, get involved with CIMS/other clubs. other careers depends.

greek life will not help you in journalism specifically.
