wrong info posted -- don't be mislead

by: OU Pan

I just read advice to PNMs saying "in recruitment for women, every PNM is NOT going to receive a bid."

This, like many things written by the same Chi O alum, is untrue.

If you maximize your options every day, you will receive a bid. Be sure to act appropriately in each house and don't talk bad about any house to the girls in another house. Also, pay attention to your own feelings, not what you hear other PNMs say during recruitment. Often they are simply repeating old rumors and untruths like the Chi O alum that posts on here all the time.

We're looking forward to seeing you in August!

Doubtful it was written by ChiO but you most likely won't get in that house anyway. Be honest maximizing your options means taking GPB AOPI and AGD invitations and last year AGD did not invite back a lot of girls that ended up GPB. The top houses are given lower numbers of girls they can invite back each day because they have high return rates. As a result the top houses have to make deep cuts to allow PNMs to adjust to their new options. If it is an alum to any house she just may know. National Pan alums are the ones crunching the numbers and telling the houses the number of girls they can invite back,

Try telling the actual truth and stop trying to insist you know who has written on this anonymous site because we all know you don't.

PNMs: The Chi O alum who wrote the message above is the one trying to mislead you. It's really better not to even read this stuff because it's so wrong.

Are you the crazy GPB that's obsessed with being cut from the top houses?

Now the crazy Chi O alum is writing that girls drop out if they don't get her favorite houses. That's ridiculous! How does she explain how those other houses make quota year after year? How does she explain how Chi O had to extend so many snap bids last year? They couldn't even fill their class after pref and had to get girls who had been cut completely from recruitment to make up a class. It's completely stupid that they're on here saying how selective they are!

Good questions! Lies don't have to be consistent, though. She posts all kinds of fake stuff.

Don't really care but quota is based off the girls going to pref night not the original number of girls going through recruitment, also a girl is considered part of quota if she makes a choice on pref night not if she actually pledges and gets initiated.

Example:1200 start recruitment, 100 drop out before pref night quota will be 100 girls per 11 houses. But at OU a girl can't get crossed cut. If a girl doesn't match with either of her pref night houses she will be added to a house usually her first choice of her pref night houses. This doesn't mean all the girls will pledge if 50 girls drop from a house or don't even go to bid day they are still considered part of quota. So truth is the houses make quota by the actually math but don't always make quota based on actually keeping the girls and lots drop from certain houses.

Truth is that Chi O had to snap bid a lot of girls because so few were willing to return to their house.

PNMs that don't want one of their pref houses suicide or SIP -single pref- the house they want. Bad idea by the way but it happens. They are not counted in quota unless they are chosen by their SIP house.

Quota is based on pref. That's why Chi O had to snap bid so many.

This message is UNTRUE! You are only guaranteed a bid if you make it to pref night! Many girls get cut from all the houses before pref night, unfortunately.

While it is possible for that to happen, the truth is that most girls who don't get a bid drop out when they still have options left. For example, if their legacy house drops them some girls may drop out and change schools to try again. Other girls may drop out of recruitment if the house they want the most drops them. Some may become disillusioned because of talk from uniformed people like the person who wrote comment #1. I have been a Rho G and didn't know anyone who dropped out for the reasons given in comment #1.

I saw two girls from my hometown not get any houses back. I know that sucks but it does happen

Tell them to call their Chi O rec lady. She can help get them on the list for a snap bid from Chi O. Hope that helps.
