I have a horrible relationship with my mom and she will not be there during rush week. Does it look bad that I will be doing this all on my own? Will I be at a disadvantage with not having my mom to help pick out outfits etc??

You'll be fine and you and you will not even have time to worry about it. My mom came on bid day and that was it but there are lots of girls whose moms didn't make it for any number of reasons. Good luck!
