Why aren't girls wearing their letters to class

I see girls in their letters all day long!

However, some sororities won't let their members wear there letters before rush unless they have makeup on and their hair is clean. Gotta rep your letters without looking like an average college student!

I wear my letters a lot but I also wear fraternity shirts and random ole miss t shirts. If I'm looking a little hungover and tired, I won't wear my letters.
