rush
by: PnmWhat kinds of questions will actives be asking pmn's during rush??
#1by: Research
Do your research. There are dozens of helpful websites that list questions actives ask and questions that pnms should ask an active during rush. Google "questions asked during sorority recruitment" or something along those lines. Read everything. The more advice you get from different sources, the more prepared you'll be.
I can't recall every question I was asked during rush but I do remember being asked about my dorm, my classes, my major, the first football game, etc. Then I was asked about my favorite thing I did in high school, my favorite hobbies, etc
Example: An active may ask "what dorm are you in?" Don't just say "I live in Martin" and change the subject. Ask the active where she lived. If she also lived in Martin, bring up the c store or how insane the Martin hill is. Say your calves were sore the first few days of class. Don't complain for 5 minutes, but be yourself and be relatable.

In the houses where I felt right at home, there was no need for the actives to ask me any awkward questions. Our conversations just seemed to flow, one into another. From clothing to classes, roommates to parties. I could tell when the actives had taken the time to get to know me before they picked me up at the door. They asked me about things we had in common.
If some of the other houses, the questions got really awkward! They didn't know me, didn't remember what was written on my resume, and didn't know what if anything we had in common. Some of those questions were whoppers and a lot less personal! I immediately knew in those houses that I had no desire to return.
Don't be worried about the questions! Especially if you have an outgoing personality and the ability to keep the conversation flowing without the need of awkward questions!

I remember being asked what I wanted in a sorority or something like that. You will be asked this at some point. I knew what to say because I had done my research.
