recruitment
by: RebI was looking through sorority girls on Instagram just to get an idea of what to wear for each round and all I've seen is lily or plain skater dresses. Would it be ok if I wore something along the lines of a nice free people/urban dress or should I just play it safe with a plain a-line?

As long as it isn't too casual for whatever round your planning on wearing it for, then you're good! That's your style. Wear what you feel great in. Don't wear anything that you don't want to wear just because it seems that other people will probably be wearing it. Some FP and UO might be a little too casual but if you find the right dress then I think it's okay.

Have you seen the July FP catalog? The answer is no! Stay away from any and all dresses you see in there or you will stick out in a bad, awkward way! Their fall line is terrible from what I've seen so far!
Their summer line is always cuter! I love free people and several of my grove dresses are from there. But they are all very short. Cute, but not appropriate for formal recruitment.

I would stay away from free people and urban. Urban outfitters is definitely too casual for skit night and pref. You might could find something pretty and lacy from FP that would work. Stay away from anything too short and too casual. You will be sitting in a chair and an active will be sitting at your feeling talking to you. You don't want her to be able to see up your short dress. But at the same time, find something you feel comfortable in.
You don't have to buy a printed Lilly dress. I didn't. I found something cute from Jcrew and my other dress was from a cute boutique.

For skit you should wear something that you would wear to a casual wedding or church (a sundress). Make sure that it's nice, clean, and appropriate. If you tried on a dress and you can't wear it to your high school, then don't wear it to rush (length, neckline, shear-ness, etc.)
For pref you should wear something similar to what you wore to graduation. Don't wear a homecoming dress. I've seen it and it looks ridiculous. When you try on a dress and if it looks too sloppy then maybe you should pick something else. A nice dress that FITS.
If your style is boho, preppy, hipster, whatever then we want to see it. Don't be something you're not. Just make sure it's appropriate

Yes perfect, but stay away from obvious summer fabrics. I lightweight fall fabric would be more appropriate given that rush is in October.
