making friend

Is it easy to make friends with people in your classes or around campus?
I'm not just talking about people who ask for notes when they missed class or people you just say hi to when you walk by.

I know joining a sorority is a great way, and I intend on doing so but I'm asking about before rush week, since actives really aren't supposed to have much contact with you.

I am coming from a small school where it wasn't really easy to make friends. After the semester ended, you never heard or spoke to them again. So that is why I am a little worried..

Is it like that at Ole Miss? I want to make friends that I will know 20 years from now.

You won't really make close friends in your classes, unless they are classes pertaining to your major and a lot of the same girls are in your classes year after year.

You will make friends with girls on your floor in the dorm and in your sorority.

Eighteen years ago I also came to Ole Miss from a small town. I was afraid that it was going to be difficult to make new friends. I met my friend Jan as I was moving in the dorm. We have been friends ever since . We now own a home together and have three cats and a parakeet named Charlie. College is a great time to make new friends.Enjoy the next 4 years.
