please be honest

Ole Miss is known for having some of the most beautiful girls in the nation. Are all the sorority girls pretty? Like, if we are not pretty will we be cut? I'm not a legacy, so I can't play that card. I only have a 3.1 GPA so I can't play the smart student card.
What sororities will look at just a plain jane, average pnm?

There are tons of beautiful girls in every chapter, but not every single person is. There are tons and tons of "average looking" girls, and there is a fair share of girls who aren't really pretty at all, to be completely honest. As long as you go through recruitment looking nice, you should be fine! Put yourself together nicely. Naturally pretty girls go through recruitment and if they don't really look like they take care of themselves, like their hair looks messy and their dress looks wrinkled and their nails look rough, then houses will probably drop them. Yes houses want pretty girls. But they would rather an average looking person who obviously knows how to take care of themselves as apposed to a naturally pretty person who looks like she needs to take a shower.
Make up for it with your personality! Houses usually would rather take someone with a good personality instead of someone whose pretty but boring to talk to. Be outgoing and kind and smile a lot and be positive. Be yourself! Try to look like your really excited to be there. (But don't over do it.) If you have good recs, that's another thing that will help you. Same with connections. Pretty much anybody can get in with a bunch of connections (not always, though). Don't worry about it. It will hurt you more to be insecure about your looks going into recruitment than your looks will.

1. You're probably more beautiful than you think. Never think that you're not pretty enough!
2. If you have a good personality, we will choose that over some model who can't hold a conversation.
3. Your GPA is average, but you could really thrive at college!
4. You may think you're average, but you may not be. You may be the nicest girl in the whole world, the best dancer, the best friend, or the girl who ends up excelling. There's so much more to you and we know that.

Every active that has posted on this thread has not been completely truthful. Yall don't give her the same fluff you give other PNMs. Everyone is anonymous. I will be honest. Yes, you'll probably get a bid. But it may not be to the house you're dying to be in. Don't judge sororities based on their looks and think you won't have a chance with them. They only put the pretty girls on all their social media and you'll notice that during rush only the pretty girls will be in skit, or be speaking to the whole room. It's not nice, but it's the truth. We'd all like to think our sorority is the prettiest so we project our most attractive girls. A 3.1 is not the highest GPA, with one like that, we'd probably look at your ACT/SAT score and see what the alumni had to say about your GPA. You could be very smart and just really bad at taking test and we won't ever know that. I'm sure you have plenty of good things to go on your resume. Just really be outgoing and make you resume the best you can.

And for your GPA, it's a lot better than a lot of girls going through! No one will automatically drop you after the first round unless you have below a 3.0 (unless KKG did higher their requirement, which I think they did). If a sorority really likes you and you have above a 3.0, then you'll be fine! It would only become a problem if a house was trying to decide between you and another PNM and y'all are pretty much the same except she has a higher GPA than you. Your GPA passes the requirement and there's nothing you could do about it now, anyway! Do not worry about it!
