It's not good or bad. It's just the necessary rec you need for them to extend you a bid should they chose to do so.

of course it looks better if they know you and your family personally but if they don't, but don't sweat it. It isn't easy getting rec letters. I know I struggled a lot as a PNM. Just get them in and make sure your social media accounts are clean because THAT DOES matter.
