This is really how we should be ranking our tiers, rather than top/middle/bottom. Just because a large portion of your chapter is from instate, it does not mean you are a top house. Having quality members is what makes you a top house. Our "tiers" are better divided by where each chapter's members come from.
#5by: Well
I think the op is trying to say is that there are quality girls in all the houses, so it's hard to rank them in tiers based on quality. The distinctions really come down to whether the houses are "southern" or not. And being southern is NOT better. Girls, you really make the south look bad with those attitudes. You might want to use some of daddy's money and travel a bit and broaden your minds.

I agree with this ranking, except Pi Phi, AOPi and Theta are all pretty much the same. I especially agree with the people who are saying people from outside the south are discriminated against in rush. There's no way around it, they are. Of course, a lot of this has to do with people from outside of the South have less of a chance at connections.
#7by: OP
As the OP I want to make a small clarification: I never meant to imply anyone from the North or South is better than the other! I was simply stating that's more difficult for a northerner to get into the more southern sororities. Not that they are discriminated against, but that they aren't given as much attention as the southern girls.
Basically, if you're going through rush and you're from the north, don't be surprised if you only get asked back to sororities in the second or third category. It doesn't mean you'll be in a worse sorority!
#8by: Geography matters
A parent or alumna who lives in Madison or Collierville is going to be able to do more for a chapter than one who lives in Boise. Given the choice between two girls exactly alike save that one lives in Madison and the other in Boise, the Madison girl should be ranked first. Having a large number of alumna near the chapter house makes for a stronger chapter.
Members are not selected based on their parents' net worth. But certainly the knowledge that a girl will be able to pay her sorority bill without financial hardship is a factor to be considered, as it should be.

DG should stay with KD below DDD and XO, but I do agree that AOPi should be with Pi Phi not Theta.
