I know XO TRI DELT KD have alumni making bid lists.
Who makes bid lists for every other house? How does the voting process work

Xo ddd and KD have very involved alumni but there is way more to the bid process than them simply putting together a list. All three of these houses have voting and/or ranking systems in place. All three of these houses rely on their active members to recommend potential new members to their alumni. Alumni are there to make sure we all follow our guidelines and by laws. We can't just vote in our friends, our friends must meet the criteria that our national and chapter has set.

Regardless of what sororities will tell you, our voting procedures are highly confidential!

You will never know how we determine who gets bids and who does not. Nor will pnm's ever find out exactly why they were dropped from houses.

This is privileged information for initiated members only!

Honestly, you really are NOT supposed to know that alumnae are really involved in voting for those houses or anything about the voting process. Until you are an active in a sorority, you will not know how that house pick girls to give bids to.

All houses do it differently, which is why we kinda try to keep it in the "hush hush". This information should not be on this website because it should be kept between initiated members. It shouldn't be shared with PNMs.

You get in or you don't. Sorry. You will not know why you got dropped until you're a sorority active.

How about you go through rush like everyone else and hope for the best?

Like really, knowing how the voting processes won't invite you back to the next round. There is no magic wish list that sororities have. Honestly, after you send in your recs you're judged. We see your Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc and we have an idea what kind of girl you are (an idea...but that's all the alumnae need).

If you're asking us this to calculate the chances you have to be in a certain house, then you are mistaken. Even if you did know how voting worked, you could easy slip through the cracks and backing the house for the next round or you slip out of the list for a weird reason.

By now, every sorority has 4 working lists.

1. The alumni list. This is a list of between 50 to 150 girls, depending on the sorority. These girls have been recommended by chapter alumni and are pretty much guaranteed invited through pref round.

2. The actives list. these are girls that the actives are pulling for. They are our friends. We work hard to gather votes for you and we work at convincing the alumni that we HAVE to have you on bid day. These girls are pretty much guaranteed through skit round.

3. The maybe list. This is a list of girls who fit our criteria, but lack connections. Depending on the size of the first two lists and return rates (that will determine how many girls we have to cut after first round) we hope these girls can at least come back for second rounds so we can get to know them.

4. The no list. These girls do not meet our criteria. It could be grades or reputation, or lack of charity work, or lack of leadership, or lack of activities, whatever. These girls will be cut after the first round.

Most houses want to see positive (glowing) recs, grades of at least a 3.0, community involvement, school activity involvement, sports involvement, leadership involvement, and awards. AND THIS IS THE AVERAGE GIRL. If you don't fit all the criteria, there are plenty of other girls who do!

After rush starts we vote or rank or whatever on each girl based on how much we liked them after each round. Everybody has a shot, except the girls on the no list.

Not true for all houses^

All houses have their own process for voting so you saying that all houses have these lists are not really true. For the most part, yeah we have a list of girls we know and want but I wouldn't say that all houses have all 4 lists up already.

Maybe not bottom tier, but top and mid tier sure do!

Every house will be different in their voting procedures, but I assure you top houses will have to drop over 1000 girls after the first round. You better believe they already have lists!

I'm not saying we don't have lists. I'm saying that we don't even know who's going through rush yet since registration just started. A little ridiculous to say that the lists are already almost done

You better believe lists have already been done!

Certainly you've read on here how many time pnm's have been told to get their resumes in before classes end.

Bottom houses are different, but if girls want a shot at a top or mid tier house, hopefully she listened to that advice!

There is no way to personally get to know 1800 girls during the first round of rush! With more and more girls rushing each year, sororities have had to adapt. Formal rush starts in September, but trust me, informally we have been putting lists together and rushing girls since March or before.

I remember when I was a high school senior getting thanksgiving cards from various sororities! For these sororities lists start in November! (Not bid lists, just interest lists).

Trust me, sororities do not wait until the fall to start organizing! Even theta has a yes and no list started! Theirs would probably be more fluid that say chi o's list, but regardless, they've already been started!
