by: pnm :)I read a comment on here that said something about actives following you on social media and inviting you to spring parties if their sorority is interested in you. If none of the sorority houses have reached out to me like that, should I be worried?

Don't be worried. If you don't know any actives, how can you expect them to reach out to you. But that being said, you should take every opportunity there is to meet actives. That way you can build connections, start following them on social media and get on their radar.

If nobody has contact you, it is because we don't know about you. It's not likely we will find out about you prior to rush either. This is why we stress over and over again how important connections are.
As some of the other posts say, there are four sororities who do not start their lists until after rush begins. So all is not lost. You will still more than likely end up with a bid. You will just need to keep your options open.

I have no idea who uhhhh lol is above, but her advise is wrong. Rush chairs will only friend request legacies, and only as a curtesy.
My sorority will not friend request you unless we are interested in you and have already met you.

Did they just friend request you, or have them made contact with you like a message?
Someone friend requesting you means they took a look at you. Could be good, could be bad.
I think everyone is reading way, way too much into basic friend requests.
Honestly, if we are interested in you, you would know!

Different sororities treat social media differently. Some houses pride themselves on adding every pnm they meet and other sororities choose not to freak out pnms by adding them on social media. Don't read too much into it. Base your opinion on the people you actually meet in person! It's a much more genuine representation

Sorority members are supposed to be following and friend requesting pnms if you have friends in common. Obviously don't friend request some random pnm, but if a girl in your sorority is obsessed with a pnm, that active will have all her sorority friends follow the pnm. Rush chairs are friends with every pnm on facebook
