was it hard to get recs?
by: wondering
I have send in quite a few recs and I have a few more left.
It is hard for me for some of them because some said they will only do an information only or they refused to do it all together.
Did anyone else experience this?
All the people who wrote my recs, loved me and really respected that I am taking the initiative and putting myself out there. I had only had one bad experience and that alumnae is known for being rude, so i rather her not write my rec letter.

also, is it okay to ask to meet up with an alumnae for coffee or something? I DO NOT want to step over any boundaries by any means but I rather put saying that the know me and I want to show them I am making a true effort.
A few alumnae invited to their meetings and to get to know me better. I want it to be like that for the last few I have write.
Thoughts? Opinions on how to approach or if I should not mention it whatsoever?

I think that's really classy of you to want to meet with alumnae for coffee just so they can write a better rec for you. However, some alumnae may take it a different way so just e-mail them "Hello, my name is___________ from_______. And I'd appreciate it if you could write me a rec for ________. I am very open to meeting you face to face so you know who you're writing for! Thank you!"
Something like that. Give the power to the alumnae.
