its a long process. First you meet guys and rush. If they like you you will receive a bid from a single fraternity of your narrowed down top two choices. This is all if they want you. You are never guaranteed a bid. Then pledgeship begins. This time you will learn the history and significance of your fraternity. Of course you will also have typical pledge duties like cleaning and designated driving etc. Almost all fraternities pledgeships lasts until after Christmas. Within the fist couple of weeks into the second semester you will be initiated and become a member of the fraternity.
