Okay, so I am an incoming transfer student and currently I have a 3.8 GPA. I noticed on the rec forms that it only asks for high school information. If we go by my high school work, I am a grade risk. How will the sororities know I am strong college student? Being a transfer, my options are limited early in the game.
I am very involved in my community and school and have a lot of charity work done, etc.

There is NO way that you can get away without putting your HS gpa down. You must list on your resume where you attended college before hand and can provide your college gpa there. List the high school you went to and the gpa received - this is mandatory.

I know I have to put my HS down. I just wish there was something for post high school work, so the sororities can see how I have improved and can handle college and extracurricular activities.

I would send my college transcripts to my rec writers and support letter writers. Also if you have any personal connections in the houses make sure they have the transcript as well. They can include that info when writing your letters and recs and any in house connections would have facts to back up if they want to keep you.

i was told that sororities see what you send Ole Miss and the office of greek life tells them your GPA. You don't send them your transcript. At least that is what I was told when I visited Ole Miss a few months ago.

I do have over 30 hours!! I really don't want to be a grade risk because that isn't who I am now. I went through a lot of bad stuff in high school and went to a small school to get my life focused. I became a great student while being apart of a few clubs and even being an officer in one. I worked part time. Did a ton of charity work, etc.

Please be careful with what you read here. Once you have a COLLEGE GPA, NOTHING about your high school GPA counts. Your college transcript will be checked, not high school. Only your college work will be considered. If you have a 3.8 college GPA that transfers, that hurdle is out of your way. Doesn't even have to be 30 hours. Alumnae who write your recommendations can certainly include your college GPA.

I'm not sure how my credits will transfer. However, I will be at Ole Miss for at least 3 years. I'm not going to finish my degree in two years. Would that be worth mentioning on my recs and during rush week?

so there is NO WHERE I can put my college GPA down? I heard the Office of Greek Life takes it from your final transcripts you send into the school. Is there any truth to that?
