open minds
by: randomthought
I keep seeing SO many posts on girls who only want XO, DDD, or KD.
I'm just gonna say it, y'all just want the title of being top tier. How do you know you will even like the girls in the there or if you will have a connection with them? Being in a sorority is a huge financial commitment but if you are with the right girls, you won't dread paying the money (i don't).
You can get cut for pretty much any reason. You don't have time during rush to be upset about it.
ALL of the sororities at Ole Miss have something to offer EVERY SINGLE PNM. Do not think you are above anyone. That turns off actives and alumni.
EVERY SINGLE HOUSE has girls who are not a good representation of their sorority, it's not just one sorority.
I'm only posting this on here is because me and the vast majority of actives all agree that is very important to keep an open mind. Put your best foot forward and remember everything happens for a reason. If you go in with an open mind, I promise, you will have a good rush experience. I wish all the PNMs best of luck this year and remember get those rec letters in ASAP if you haven't.

I have friends in bottom houses that are happier than those in top houses. It's not all about the ranks. Sure you may get a cool title while you're in college but when you're 40 and you look back, will you say "I made so many close friends that I'm still close with today in my sorority" or will you say "I was a XYZ at Ole Miss." and shake off the fact that you just blended in with the rest of the girls.

The truth of the matter is the fact that pnm don't really get to chose which sorority gives them a bid. It's take this bid and be happy about it.
I understand why girls want top tier, but the other houses have just as much to offer.
There is no need to diss top houses or talk about girls not being happy! There are happy and unhappy girls in just about every house, just as there are happy and unhappy girls in life!
