what makes "mississippi girls" better?
by: PnmSo in a legacy to a pretty good sorority at ole miss. My mother was in the sorority at ole miss but moved up north before I was born. I already know being from the north will hurt me. But I just want to know what makes the ms and southern girls more desirable? It's an honest question.

Mississippi girls are not more desirable! They do well during recruitment because most of them are legacies to one or more sororities. They also know ore chapter alumni than the rest.
Being a chapter legacy, you should be good for your moms sorority. Have her contact her old sorority sisters and rack up those letters!

also Mississippi girls know Mississippi... they have been to camp together, school together, in other words friends their entire life. Think of it this way had I gone to my state University where everyone from my high school, country club, youth group etc... went I would have probably been in a so called "top tier" because I knew everyone in those houses. Same goes for MS girls. Are they so called "more desirable"? no- they just are friends with a lot more "desirable" girls- and seriously you need to get off this notion of "desirable"- just because a house is so called top-tier doesn't mean its the best house for you. Every house at Ole Miss is great and "desirable"...

Maybe in the past OOS students transferred out. That is not the case anymore. Now it is just a silly excuse. Mississippi girls leave school too!
Also, girls from OOS are more likely to accept bids from bottom tier sororities. If you are from Mississippi, it's Tri Delt or chi o. Mississippi girls will accept bids from other top six houses, but will drop before accepting a bid to a bottom tier.
