kd

KD is not strong nationally at all....third tier sorority at best.

No chapters at Baylor, Tulane, Emory, Georgia Tech, Oklahoma, TCU, SMU,West Virginia, Duke, William & Mary, Colorado, Purdue, Michigan, Iowa, Wisconsin, USC, Pepperdine, UC-Berkeley, Minnesota, Penn, UConn, Arizona, Syracuse,Iowa..... and NO chapters at all in many states and Canada....but chapters at non-academic, division 3 schools in the south that the top sororities won't consider having chapters..

what's the point of this post

i guess that kd is not selective in where they put chapters, and can't get on campus at many top public and private schools.

This is exactly why so many of is choose other sororities over KD. However, here they are still considered a top tier house. They might have slipped slightly in the last few years, but nowhere near third tier!

It is interesting that if KD thinks they are so strong in south but don't have chapters at a lot of top southern schools. Tulane, SMU, Duke, Emory, William & Mary. Georgia Tech. Not an elite sorority at all.

by: LOL

there is a difference between top schools for academics and top schools for greek life. KD is top here, as well as Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, FSU... schools with major greek life. so stop trying to find a reason to tear KD down because you look ridiculous and stupid doing it. this is Ole Miss. KD is a top tier chapter here. you and the op's posts are completely irrelevant and desperate.

I think KD is hurry that they aren't on campus at the top academic and prestigious schools in south and all over US.

By: No Duke????

There is no point to this. KD is strong at Ole Miss and that's the bottom line. Girls rush the sororities that are the best at the schools they attend. I don't think it matters how they are all over!

By: what?
by: Actually

Actually girls choose houses based on where they fit in, right? Aren't we told, over and over again, to ignore tiers?

Kd's response to this post is exactly why nobody likes them!

They are strong in the sec, but weak in other parts of the country. I'd be lying of I said it didn't effect my decision on pref night.

I am saying nothing about KD, just a reply about being a "career sorority girl." The reason that you might consider how strong a sorority is nationally is for contacts and support during the rest of your life as an alumna. A strong, respected sorority can help you when you move to a new city and know no one, those ties can help you get a job, it can help you make friends in a new community.

Exactly! You don't want KD If you are moving to NYC, LA, Chicago, Houston, Dallas, Wash DC, Boston, San Fran, Denver, Phoenix, San Diego, east Coast, west coast, south west, Midwest.

What a small world you expect to live in if your future determined what sorority you pledged in college. Seriously, if you didn't pledge "xyz" sorority you shouldn't move to some of the largest metropolitan areas in the country. Someone needs a reality check!

I totally agree with this statement. We are sisters for life, not just four years. With roughly 50% of pnm coming from OOS, you really should chose a sorority based not only on how strong they are in the sec, but also nationally!

In Texas they are bottom of the bottom. Nobody brags about being a KD in Dallas, Austin, or Houston!

Adding your sorority to your resume' is not going to get a job for you! Jobs will be offered when you graduate with wonderful grades and have great internships. Sororities help you make connections in the areas that you live and won't help you when you move across the country. It doesn't matter what sorority it is. Ladies, you join the sorority because you want to be part of a group that you fit in with.

Seriously? As an alumna, I can assure you that if I see a resume come through with my sorority membership mentioned on it, that applicant gets an interview.

If I have several equally (or close to it) qualified candidates for one open position and one of them happens to be a sorority sister, she gets the offer. If I am contacted by a recent graduate of my sorority new in town from anywhere in the country, I help her with whatever she needs to get adjusted to the area.

A GOOD sorority member always has her sisters' back, during college and after.

If I was passed over for a job because my sorority affiliation was not the same as the hiring manager and another candidate got the job because she was...you better lawyer up because I'm taking you to court for discrimination.

Ladies, NEVER EVER put you sorority affiliation on a resume if you are applying for a professional job. I love my sorority but listing social clubs on a resume is not appropriate. ...EVER.
