which sorority should i aim for?

I'm coming to Ole Miss in the Fall and I've heard it's a good idea to know girls in sororities you're aiming for, and to get references for the houses you want. I'm from the North (bit of a disadvantage I know), but I act and dress pretty southern. I have very good grades, I'm from a privileged family and I guess I'm pretty much the typical sorority type- blonde, skinny, etc. I do like a party though, and I don't think anything bad will be revealed, but I'm not reserved. Does anyone know where I am likely to get a bid/if I will get one at all? Thanks y'all!

Kappa, pi phi, MAYBE tri delt if you can get in with them. It's hard to say but being from the north is a big disadvantage and it sounds like you don't know maybe girls here.. KD, XO, DG, and phi mu won't want you unless you're a legacy of have tons of connecfions. Good luck.

Not true. Phi mu takes tons of OOS girls. I know a good many from the north

if you're pretty, kappa.
if not, pi phi.
if you have money, DDD.
with Phi Mu's pledge classes this year having many more northern girls than usual, you may get a shot there.

As the others have said.. Kappa, pi phi, theta, adpi, aopi. They take northern girls. I'd give up on DDD if you don't have connections. Kappa is alright here, so be social and make friends with kappas and you'll do fine there.

If you want to be in a sorority, I suggest not aiming for a specific chapter. Go into rush with all of your recs and have an open mind. Find the girls that you fit with the best, the ones that seem to be a lot like you. It would be tragic to "aim" for a specific chapter & then get cut from that house, if you have not kept all of your options open.
