dolla dolla bill ya

by: grrr

People have told me that I should put my dads job on my resume. What he does is known to be a low pay job, but he makes a ton of money so I can afford a sorority. If the resume says he does ________, will it effect me, even if we have enough money to live more than comfortably?

You don't put your dad's job on your resume. That's incredibly tacky

It's standard to put your parents jobs on your sorority résumé. I think sororities are interested in making sure you can pay your dues. That said, it you are uncomfortable listing your dads occupation, then don't. Nobody is going to hold that against you. Even Tri Delt!

As an alumna that writes a LOT of recommendations, I will tell you that you should NEVER, EVER even dream of putting your parents' occupations on your resume. NEVER. Without exception, not ever. SO tacky.

I put both my parents jobs on my résumé. I preffed the three top tier sororities and had a perfect rush.

It didn't hurt me any! Probably helped.

I have seen it both ways. It may help the REC writer more than the sorority chapters.

Include their occupations! It's not tacky, it's tradition!

i think just about everyone puts their parents occupations and 50 years ago it would've hurt you if they had a low paying job but now it won't hurt you at all. just do it.
