There is no difference for in state vs. oos girls.

From Ole Miss 2014 Recruitment registration:

There is currently no GPA requirement to participate in Formal Recruitment at Ole Miss. This does not, however, apply to the chapters' individual requirements to extend a bid. The chapter average to extend a bid is a 3.0 GPA. Women who have below a 3.0 GPA are advised that they are at a greater risk to be released from the process. With the amount of women that go through the formal recruitment process, GPA tends to be an easy way for the chapters to begin to manage the numbers. Being released from recruitment or receiving a bid through the process is due to a wide variety of factors that are ultimately up to the chapters. GPA is only one of those factors, but there is much weight placed on GPA.
GPA Zones:

Green Zone = Your options are not likely to be limited based on
your GPA. (3.0 + )

Yellow Zone = Your options are more likely to be limited
by your GPA. (2.8 – 2.99)

Red Zone = Your options are very likely to be limited
based on your GPA. (2.79 and below)

If you are coming to Ole Miss and want to rush then yes, absolutely go through with a 2.8. All girls in state and OOS have to have connections regardless of GPA. Girls with 2.8 have received bids from houses that place a high standard on GPA but they are very well connected and networked!

It is totally up to you. You can read the advice given above. You can see how difficult it will be to get a bid. If you have some kind of really great reason for the low grades, like participating at a very high level in a sport or some other kind of competitive activity, that might get you a pass, but don't count on it.
