KD got a great PC. I think DG did very well too. DDD and XO got their usual, great PC's, but the star girls that won't disappear after rush seemed to go KD this year. Especially in XO it seems they always get a top class but aren't spectacular in anything throughout the year. Phi Mu did well. Kappa's class is very pretty but I'm predicting a lot of girls that are going to party and let the grades slip. VERY impressed with AOPi. They are on the rise. Honestly don't know any that went Pi Phi and I haven't seen them anywhere. Also happy for Theta, got a large class and were able to be more selective with ADPi coming back.

No connection to AOPi but my hometown girls loved them this year. Those that got Chi O bids took them and they have a great class. So does DDD and KD and really everyone. One thing no one seems to get is that the girls that want the "top tier" are the ones that stay close to home and love being with some high school friends. The girls from OOS are looking for new experiences, so if they don't go "top tier" that's fine, they want to meet new people and they'll get that at the other 6 houses. If they wanted to be with HS friends, they'd have stayed in state. And the in-state girls want to be with friends. There's no right or wrong, and it's not a bad thing. And wanting to pledge with friends isn't bad either. Can;t we all just get along, ha. Top, middle, bottom, who cares - every house at OM is good.

People aren't going to like this, and I know certain girls will jump on me for it, but this is an honest opinion from a girl who just went through rush. From high school, classes, and my dorm I know upwards of 10 girls in every PC, not quite as many in AOPi and Pi Phi. So based on them and my rush experience, I think the PCs (only!) are:
KD/DG/Phi Mu-These 3 stood out all week to me, and several friends loved them too. The nicest, prettiest girls I know ended up in these 3. I don't care who cut who, their girls are the best I've met. And yes I joined one of them. And I know 2 of them aren't typically "top," so all that shows you is either I'm in a top one and think 2 did better, or I picked another not typically top house as the best in addition to my own, you'll never know.
XO/DDD-They seem like well to do, popular girls. But I don't see anything different in them than the above 3. Just seem more like large groups from the same schools. The other 3 got more relatable, kinder, and classier girls in my opinion, not that XO and DDD did poorly by any means.
Kappa-The girls they got are incredibly fun and down to earth. A little to fun for me, but I really enjoy being around them.
AOPi/Pi Phi/Theta-Honestly don't know as many. The ones I have met are a diverse mix of hometowns, personalities, but all fun, sweet girls.

Have any of you even seen the bid lists yet????? I seriously doubt it! DDD took 118 girls. Less than 50 were from mississippi! Clear majority are from out of state! They had the best pledge class by far! Even a few famous daddy's in the bunch! DG took the most instate girls! Y'all need to wait for the new member lists to be published before you go spewing false information! KD took homely girls. Yes, a few we're lookers, but what fun will it be a swaps when all the boys are clamoring over just a few girls! Phi Mu got great girls so did kappa. Xo got a few unsavory legacies. Haven't really been paying attention to them. They always disappear after recruitment anyway.

So here is the deal: Girls who don't get a bid from Chi o, DDD, or KD (in no order) are lying when they say they got the house they wanted (unless they are a legacy). No girl honestly comes to Ole Miss and wants to be any of the others. It would be more accurate to explain it as if there are two rushes going on simultaneously. The first is for the top tier (Chi o, DDD, and KD) and then the second one for all the girls who got dropped from their top tier dream sororities and have had to settle for less. But good for them for putting a game face on and making the best out of it!
Also, the top tier sororities are top tiers for a reason and they proved that for each of their rounds of rush. Seriously the people saying phi mu/DG/Kappa are top tier.... Just stop already! Not everyone gets to be the best! You can just be there, like always.
And all of the out-of-state/MS girls stuff... It's no longer relevant! Just look at the actual numbers!

This is so not true!! Face it, not everyone likes the " top" houses!! I know PLENTY of girls who put them all in their bottom three after philanthropy because they did not lime them! especially girls doing that for DDD. I have nothing against DDD, I'm just saying what I know. Believe it or not, girls come to the school dying to be in DG, Phi Mu, and evenKappa! Sorry, but your top tier isn't as sought after as you think. I also know girls who listed these houses after Phi Mu and DG for pref. So yeah!

It's true not everyone wants xo ddd or kd. They attract a certain kind of girl and not everyone wants to be like that- good or bad. Things are changing down here at what you call top houses. The wealth is being spread- just like what obama wants to do.

Spot on accurate! EVERY girl I knew wanted one of these three houses. Even legacies of other chapters! I was a DG legacy and wanted one of these three.

I'd argue there are girls who come here hoping for DG. Maybe not as many, but they have a lot of tradition too.

So I would like to say that I just went through Rush at Ole Miss a few weeks ago and totally agree. I ended up pledging Kappa, which believe it or not was my number 1 choice from the beginning. Honestly no one I know liked Tri Delt during rush... during rush they literally asked what does your daddy do. I put Tri Delt and KD in my bottom 3 after Skit. And after being asked back to Chi O for pref put them on the bottom during ranking. I believe all these old ideas of "tiers" are a little outdated. I have friends in every sorority who love them. Also, I'm a kappa and believe it or not, I'm not a party girl. I am in the honors college and make good grades and also like to have fun. I believe that we are all holding on to stereotypes from about 10 years ago that simply aren't true anymore.

I went through rush this fall, and I'll admit I loved chi o. I actually came hoping to go chi o or DG. So that's not true that nobody wants middle or bottom tier unless they get cut first. I was asked back to phi mu, Pi phi, and theta, but I dropped out and went ADPi because I fell in love there. It was the best decision I ever made! I love my sorority, and tiers just don't matter if you love where you are.

a "few strange girls" doesn't change the fact that kd had a fantastic rush and took very high quality girls. jeez i'm not sure what all the kd hate is for.
