low act score

by: Help

So my grades are really good (3.7) but I only scored a 19 on the ACT. I had to provide my ACT score to the women writing my recs. Will my score hurt me for rush?

No, grades are far more important.

You’d be surprised at how many have 17’s, 18’s and 19’s. Wouldn’t worry about at all

enroll at the local community college, keep a 2.0 GPA for one semester so you’re guaranteed admission to OM, and rush
all OOS doing it!!

No one who scored a 17, 18 or 19 should be allowed to go to college. That's just sad!

You do know the average act score for the state of MS is an 18, right? Chapters don’t sit around and discuss act scores all day

Chapters have no business even considering a pnms act or sat score. I understand grades but test scores are zero indication of how well a student performs. You could have have one student make an 18 on the act and one student score a 32....... the student that scored the 18 May very well maintain a 3.5-4.0 and the student that scored the 32 may struggle to keep a 2.5.

Test scores should not even be factored in a Chapters decision to give a girl a bid or not. The policy of reporting test scores needs to be changed

I doubt if anyone who scored a 32 on the ACT would even go to OM!

Does it matter that virtually everyone at my school has a 4.0 (all girls catholic school) and so my 3.7 probably isn't that good in comparison? I'm freaking out.

Does your all girls catholic high school happen to be somewhere about an hour from Oxford lol?
Okay so what if everyone has a 4.0! Your GPA is good and your test score is fairly average.
The entire state of MS average act score is an 18.
Please don’t worry

Also keep in mind a lot of OOS students couldn’t get into their state universities so it’s not like you’re running in competition with a ton of high act scores

How is it possible to have a 3.7 and only score a 19 on the ACT? Your HS must seriously inflate grades.

That being said, I know many girls in my HS that had low ACT scores and still got into sororities at OM and UA. It's not all about how smart you are.
