out of state

I’m coming from out of state and will be rushing in the fall. I have rec letters but all from people who don’t go to Ole Miss. I have one connection with a girl in one of the houses but that’s it. And my GPA is not that great unweighted. Should I even be rushing at all? I think it’d be so amazing and a great pppurtunity but it sounds pretty intense and I’m not sure I’d get a bid.

Just go for it and see what happens or you'll be sorry you didn't try. Be open minded about the houses that want you and don't focus on who cuts you. You have no control over connections or your GPA at this point, so don't worry about what you can't do anything about and concentrate on having clean social media and making a good impression when you get here. Be sweet to everyone, always look and act your best, and have a positive attitude.

Go through recruitment, get a bid and find your people in your house. Odds are the places you like will be filled with girls just like you and not the houses you assumed would be right at all.

Your grades are not a problem! Be sure you get the rest of your ducks in a row and be prepared. Go in with the mind set that you will be open to ALL of the chapters.
