by: Northern GalI am from Queens and have always wanted to go to school in the Deep South. Will I fit in and be accepted anywhere? Which house has the most girls from us north? Thank you very much

Ole Miss is great and does draw students from everywhere, but the majority of OOS students are from the South. That's not to say you won't love it, you might, but I know students who've come here from out West and northern states and some said it was an adjustment. You can definitely find a home if you keep an open mind and have fun; as for houses with girls from your area, most northern girls wind up in Alpha Phi, ADPi and AOPi. Great girls in each house, don't listen to tier talk.
I'm curious - what is about the South that appeal to you to go to school here? I have relatives who live in Manhattan and small towns in the South are a far cry from the big city in every way...and again, you might love it, but be prepared for a very different experience than a major city. I wish you luck selecting a school.

Just not true. There are northerners in those sororities. Not many but there are some. How do I know? I'm one of them.
