They are never released. I guess the logic is that it's only the houses' business because they can use the data to reflect on their success and plan improvement. As a PNM, that info is not really important because all it tells you is historically what houses were popular during recruitment. The numbers give you no information on member happiness or how many swaps they have or how many charity events they sponsor. Those are the kinds of things (or like that) that determine one's enjoyment in a house -- and the best predictor of that is how you, the individual, feel during recruitment based on conversations and house values. It is a personal experience because we all like different things. Group think is not an accurate predictor of personal happiness. Hope that makes sense.

Panhellenic gives sororities a quota based off of how high their return rates are. So the higher the return rates, the smaller the quota. Chi O had a quota of 102, Tri Delt had a quota of 109, and KD had a quota of 115.

You don't know this for a fact. Guarantee the difference is Tri Delt and KD had quota additions. These three chapters would have the same base quota based on the past two years of variable quota. Two just got quota additions and one did not.

return of PNMs but also return rate year after year and semester after semester. Meaning that girls stay and don't transfer or drop out of the sorority. The higher that rate of return, the fewer new members they need to sustain a house total. This variable quota works to keep all the houses similar in size and should be done more places where there are discrepancies in chapter sizes.

Return rates aren't relevant to PNMs because it just means the number of PNMs who ranked a particular house out of the total number of PNMs. If you hear the phrase "return rates" with regards to RFM, it helps chapters determine the number of PNMs to invite back each round based off their performance the past 4 years. This is why newer chapters have to invite back more PNMs even if they're really popular, because they don't have 4 years of return rates to base their number off of.

If you hear "return rates" thrown around with regards to ranking chapters, realize that no one in any one chapter knows the return rates of other chapters. Hell, my chapter (excluding our advisor, president, and VPR) didn't even know our return rate for most rounds for most years. This, along with PNM position on "the list" with regards to numerical rankings, is not usually shared amongst the masses because many will not understand what it means.

So when you rush and Panhel tells you "if you maximize your options at pref you're guaranteed a bid," that's where Quota Additions come into play. If you got invited to 2 houses on pref and rank both, you're guaranteed a bid to one of them, no matter where you are on the list. It's the "you have a better chance at your first choice if you rank both houses" incentive: even if your 1st choice and 2nd choice fill up to quota before they get to you, there's a chance you can be added as a QA if you rank both, but if you SIP/suicide, then you're dropped entirely.
