For fraternities, there is a two week period after bid day that you can give bids to people who were released or didn’t go through the formal recruitment process. This is formally referred to as the “open bidding process.”

what snap bids are are something you can not count on- ESPECIALLY using VQ. Snap bids are used when a sorority does not meet quota. They can be issued by any chapter who does not make quota to any girl who participated in formal recruitment and in the case of going to pref. maximized their options- so dont think if you only list one house you will get a snap bid. And in general its a very bad strategy to begin with to drop out and hope for a snap... it just wont happen. Also you will hear all sorts of rumors about houses that gave snap bids most are full of s-t because snap bids are offered before girls get their bids so they just show up for bid day activities like the rest of the class only a couple of people in your chapter know who the snaps are and very few are given at all. You will ALWAYS here- oh I know someone, someone on my hall, my roommate- dropped out when she only had lower tiers left and got a snap to a top tier or middle tier or whatever- its just simply NOT TRUE... snap bids are an exception not a rule... and like I said especially with VQ.

I will also add that many chapters have a policy that once they cut you that’s it. You are likeliest to receive s snap bid from a chapter you had left when you dropped.

For the most complete and dynamic information available on Snap Bidding (and all things NPC) please google The NPC Manual of Information (updated July 2018) and read page 133 under SNAP BIDDING.

Snap bids start after prefs as soon as bid matching is complete and are finished by the time girls come to bid day. Girls who get snapped already know where they are going so they can show up to bid day to open their bid and run with everyone else.

If any PNMs were dropped from rush or didn’t go through at all then they can contact Panhellenic to say they might be interested in COBs. Some houses will offer bids through COBs and also next semester. Get your name to Panhellenic.
