I really don’t understand what makes DDD so special. Maybe they’ve been on campus a while? They weren’t as impressive as KD and several others during rush.

I think that is all based on personal preference. Generally KD and DDD are on the same playing field, so while some girls prefer KD, some prefer DDD. But they are both really strong chapters that are similar just with their own personalities

Just curious! Why do you think DG shouldn’t be ranked high? Are you saying that out of jealousy? Personally, I think that every sorority at Ole Miss has great qualities, and we should all show more Panhellenic love towards each other. It would make it a lot more fun!

I've seen the inside. It is slightly bigger: 43000 square feet vs 40000 square feet but it isn't nicer on the inside. Both are nice though.

Well this one is kind of all over the place, honestly I don't think you are a student here. And what's with the Gaps, that's got to be the dumbest thing ever.

First there's not a big difference between KD and DDD. Both are desired, especially among the Mississippi girls and having a personal legacy/connection is really important. Chi-O tends to attract Jackson Chi-O legacies, good for them, they are a good sorority.

DG, Kappa and Phi Mu are excellent sororities, and they also tend to recruit from the Mississippi/Ole Miss legacy/connections students.

Pi Phi and AOPI are the top of the OOS sorority list. Some legacies, but more diverse, tend to need good resume and GPA for these two.

ADPi still fairly new to the campus, but growing stronger. They have had successful recruitments and their retention rate and GPA is improving.

Alphi Phi and Theta are still struggling, but hopefully variable quota will help them. Alpha Phi is still trying to build from being the newest sorority addition on campus and Theta from years of being the favorite sorority to bully by the old biddies who can't stay off of GR.

Dg/kappa/phimu no ole miss legacy or in house legacy required. less than 50%, closer to 20-30% are actually legacies.

Adpi isn't growing stronger, they had a new house, but now aphi does, dg/ddd renovated. adpi has been struggling.

Neither aphi or theta are "still struggling". aphi has been improving. Theta is still last, but are improving.

As for OP "Dg is back at it", I thought you were nice ranking DG above phimu and kappa, I'd put DG below those two.

KD, DDD, DG and KKG are around 50% legacy. XO is higher. All require inhouse connections of some type if you aren't a legacy. Really, there isn't much variability in the members of KD, DDD, DG, KKG and PM. I think those groups are top 5. XO is a great group but I really think they are 6th at this point as it relates to overall desirability.

Chi-O is still a very desirable sorority, they just appeal to a very specific demographic, which is Jackson private school girls/Ole Miss Chi-O legacies. They are still the largest sorority on campus, had the best retention between fall and spring semester and always have the best or second best GPA. Nothing to be ashamed of. However, by only choosing girls from this very specific demographic they are isolated themselves. But it's all good if they're happy with it.

I do think Alpha Phi is improving, however they are still struggling. They had the advantage of being one of the four sororities (Alpha Phi, ADPi, Kappa, Theta) with the largest quotas last fall and should have that same advantage this recruitment if variable quota stays in place. They were able to recruit a little over half of the quota amount and then lost 55 members (largest drop of any sorority on campus) between Fall and Spring. They also have the lowest GPA on campus. So if I was Alpha Phi I would spend less time on GR and more time working on their recruitment strategies.

Yes they do. I know a couple of KDs from Ohio. If you have good grades, etc you have a good shot. They do give high consideration to all legacies not just OM chapter legacies. However, keep all of your options open.

Honestly? Your chances with KD as an OOS legacy without Ole Miss connections are not promising. Some sororities will evaluate all legacies based on resume and GPA - KD is not one of those. You really need an Ole Miss connection, either as a legacy or with a good Ole Miss rec. Not saying it's impossible, but I would definitely keep an open mind going into recruitment.

It isn't being from Ohio that will hurt you. It is the lack of connections. If you don't have anyone in house pulling for you, then you usually get looked over. It isn't that you aren't good enough - but it's that there are hundreds of amazing girls going through rush alongside you.

I would just put your best foot forward and trust the process. You for sure have a chance with KD, but don't get your hopes up.
