family pushing legacy chapter on me
by: ScaredI am a legacy at a 'top tier' sorority at Ole Miss and all I hear from my family is I can't wait to see you run down the hill... we've been waiting for this day since blah, blah, blah... I think my legacy house is great BUT all my friends who aren't legacies at this house are getting so much more attention from other houses at ole miss and I'm not getting as much. I'm getting some texts and snaps, but they don't feel as genuine. I know that sounds bratty, but I don't want people to just assume I only going to like this one sorority because I live in Jackson and that all my family was a member there. Would it be appropriate for me to follow other sororities on IG or something?

Try not to worry about it too much. Sometimes it is assumed that most girls will follow or at least want to follow their legacy house.
Just be yourself and don't say too much about not wanting your legacy house 100% or wanting your legacy house 100% -- Or really any other house for that matter!!

My roommate and I are disagreeing on this, I say "Don't follow actives in any sorority if they don't follow you first. You will totally look desperate." Roomie and some hallmates say "I think if she reaches out to other sororities they will automatically know she is keeping her options open."
Russian roulette at best

Agree with Open Mind, you can enjoy any sisterhood on campus just go in with an open mind. Ignore poster 3 some people are just not nice. Sororities do know which PNMs have lots of legacy connections (and which houses) sometimes we don't reach out as much to girls we 'think' will automatically go their legacy house. That's a rookie move and I know more than one girl and more than one house that it screwed. Let people know your options are open. Good luck!
