gpa standards for 2018 fall rush
by: TI am transferring from a 4 year college. My current gpa is below a 2.7, but in high school I finished with a 2.87. Should I register for rush or try next year when my gpa has improved?

Your GPA won't keep you out of a sorority but it is going to limit your options. Currently you would be looking at Alpha Phi, Theta or ADPi. However it would also depend on your Ole Miss connections. If you have some really strong connections your GPA might be overlooked. It is also going to depend on your class standing, if you are coming in as a Junior I think you would be wasting your time.

Neither GPA is exactly stellar. Are you transferring from a school with tougher or easier academics? IMO, you might want to skip rush and focus on graduating. If you only pulled a 2.7 as a GDI, I can't imagine how you would be able to juggle your schoolwork with all the time commitments of a sorority.
If you're a guy it might be a different story with fraternities, but the point still stands. At the end of the day we are all here to get an education and graduate.
