Is Tri Delta really top tier at OM? A couple of girls from my high school are Tri Delts and they weren't very popular in high school--they were just kind of plain/average. . I was surprised to hear they got in a "top tier" sorority. They really aren't sorority types at all. They could have been legacies I guess. I'm from out of state. It's just weird. You would think that a top tier sorority would have top tier girls.
I'm going through rush in the fall and I'm just trying to figure things out.

They could have been legacies, or they could have been very good friends with some actives. Looks and popularity don't seem to matter at all.

If you truly are a PNM you can not use this site or the experience of two girls from her hometown to make a decision about any sorority. You will have to go through recruitment and then the SORORITY picks you, you do not pick the sorority.

no bham girl wants to be an alpha phi, just saying. maybe if they're from far out, but not mountain brook, homewood, or vestavia for sure.

in no particular order , DDD, DG, Kappa, KD, Phi Mu, and XO (decided to do alphabetical) are all great houses at ole miss that a lot of girls want. rankings will vary based on the PNM. not saying the rest of the houses aren’t good, this is just from what I have observed. personally, I think that every house has popular girls, weird girls, brainiacs, etc. I know DDDs who were popular in high school, and I know some that weren’t too popular. in the end, it really doesn’t matter. just do what makes YOU happy. don’t feel pressured to go one house because it is considered “top”. I promise you won’t be happy if you think that way. I never post on this sight but I just thought this needed to be said.

@my opinion, I hear you and basically agree, but the truth is some houses are more sought after and viewed as top tier.
The indisputable top houses right now at ole miss are DDD and KD (alphabetical order); even though those houses have their share of strange girls who were not popular in HS and still not popular in college! I despise the rankings and tier system, but just because we say they don't exist doesn't make it true.

you’re definitely correct. it just made me so sad seeing girls crying in the grove over getting dropped from a top house. I don’t want anyone to feel that way you know? stupid tier system
