Again, these are your ranks before any cuts. I think everyone knows where their initial ranks of the house they got into fell: if it was their legacy home, 1st, 2nd or 3rd, middle or last choices

Trying to get a feel for what's realistic here.

Please no house names...it gets mean when house's are named on here.

You needed another category.

I am a legacy and I did not pledge my legacy house.

Did any legacies get cut from their legacy houses? If so, which houses?

I'm sure Legacies got cut, but I have no idea what houses cut the most, nor would anyone really know the answer to that question.

I am a legacy to what is considered a 'top' tier. However I am also an OOS, so it didn't seem to matter that I had a 4.0 GPA, was a Class President, cheerleader, volunteer work, etc. Mom is known as a leader in her profession but no connections to Ole Miss (in fact my family are strong supporters of a rival SEC school and kind of considered Ole Miss as lowering my standards). However I decided to attend and ended up in a great 'middle' tier full of amazing OOS students with stronger resumes than mine. I have friends in all the sororities and haven't felt out of place in my own, in fact I doubt I would have been as happy in my legacy sorority. I have several friends in it, but there really is a strong 'Mississippi/legacy' feel to it. I think everyone needs to just accept that whatever sorority they end up in they WILL find friends and CAN find a sisterhood.

No option for me. I was a Legacy, went to legacy house and another house at Pref, and choose the non-legacy house.

It wasn't because I hated them or anything, I just really clicked with some girls from the other house. My mom may forgive me...one day.

Thanks. I’m a legacy PNM. I just want to find the right group. Did you get cut from groups due to your legacy status?

FYI: You DO NOT choose your house, the sorority chooses you. You can list your preferences but that doesn't necessarily mean you will be chosen by those preferences.

Being a legacy does not hurt, it will give you some leverage in some of the sororities, but not all. Some sororities will pretty much ignore OOS legacies, and some will make every attempt to honor the legacies of all Sisters. Being a legacy will not hurt you with other sororities because all sororities know that not all legacies will be accept by their legacy sorority, especially OOS legacies to the more Mississippi sororities.

@Pref

I am OOS (but my Mom was not when she went to Ole Miss), but still had a full schedule the first couple of rounds. I have no idea why houses that dropped me, might have done it, so I can't really answer that.

I never really got asked about my legacy status, but if I was, I would have said that I am absolutely keeping an open mind. Good luck!

@Answer

That is 100% true for every round, but the PNM does, sort of, get a choice at Pref. My understanding is that I would have been high on my Legacy chapter's bid list, since I made it to Pref, and was a legacy. Assuming that is true, I did get to make a choice when I listed the other house first, and was lucky enough to be high enough on their bid list. When I said choice, that is all I meant.
