joining a different fraternity after transferring

by: Transfer

I'm an initiated member of a fraternity of my current school, but I'm transferring to Ole Miss and my current fraternity is not established there. Would I be able to re-rush a different fraternity or what would I need to do in order to join a different house?

I don’t think so, because you’re an initiated member of another fraternity, so you’re a member for life. don’t take my word for it, because I could be completely wrong, but I’m pretty sure that’s correct.

Once you're initiated, it's for life, so even if a new school doesn't have a chapter, you cannot re-rush and pledge again.

The only way you could have joined another house would have been if you de-pledged your current house before initiation. But once you're initiated, you're "married" to that house for life. No way around it, either.
