tridelt closing at arizona, charter revoked at indian

by: PAC

TriDelt lost its chapter at Indiana due to being wildest house on campus and is closing at Arizona after years of poor recruitment and low chapter morale. Chapter at Nebraska is under review to be closed also.

I'm a DDD at another school. There are a lot of issues nationally with DDD. It's crazy.

DDD is not relevant past Texas. It’s KKG Pi Phi DG APHI and Theta.

DDD also had a large scale chapter membership termination with their chapter at Nebraska, and their chapter at Penn State got shut down in 2009 for hazing and turned into "Trilogy", which was implicated in the death of the Beta there. Seems they have lots of issues with their membership, whether it be retention or keeping their sisters under control. Interesting how the DDD chapter at Ole Miss is considerably more tame.

@ other schools, you are right that the chapter here is tamer, but their nationals are frustrated with this chapter over violations of rush rules that Panhellenic monitors. National reps were on hand during rush this year (and at Kappa for similar reasons) to get a handle on renegade alumni advisors. This could also lead (after a long time) to a chapter being closed. It's all about the national sorority losing control over a chapter. (I should add I like the Tridelts I've known here.)

It's really about striking a balance. The DDD chapter here may have a huge alum influence in their MS, but they also donate the most money of any chapter to St. Jude's, so I would have to believe this chapter would need to do something really dramatic for them to get shut down. Looking at their Alpha chapter at Boston, it's clear that Nationals is hands off with them because they don't fit the tri delt "mold" so to say, so they're not as supported but it's nothing worth revamping ("restructuring") the chapter over, which is usually what happens when a sorority wants to regain control of the image of the chapter. Just a thought.

They also closed their chapter at UCLA this past spring.

Every single National sorority has great chapters, good chapters and not so stellar chapters. It's just the way it is.
