I never knew how hated I was until I went through rush. Thanks for opening my eyes.

You may feel hated but I am thinking the correct terminology would be jealous. Open your eyes and see the girls that either got bids they weren't interested in, or no bids at all- absolutely gorgeous girls! I know you may feel like everyone hates you but more like everyone (maybe it's the moms) are jealous of you! I am thinking there is a black list or just trying to run oos/wrong zip code beautiful girls off campus. There is definitely a Regina George Syndrome here! When you think about it it's all so silly. We get all dressed up, send letters of rec, have great grades, to get into a club! Plus we all pay money- think about the $150 we all paid.... $150 x 1200 girls- just for the chance to be selected- where did that go? I mean I hate to call out the hustle but I will. And then there is the fee to be a member.. in what other club do you have to pay a fee to raise money for a charity?

Bring icut from every sorority is not healthy to a girl's self esteem. All I wanted was to be involved. Then I hear why I was cut---that's when self hatred comes in.

Do you know why you were cut? And who told you? You really have to consider the source at this point. Have you contacted the Panhellinic office to be put on the list for continuous open bids? There are supposedly 2 sororities that are still taking people.

Junior League is an organization of women (after college) which you have to be asked to join and then volunteer on the community and pay dues.

I don't know your situation but I do know last year when I went through there were a couple of girls who were cut from recruitment and I still can't figure out why. They were really nice girls. It didn't make sense. I would contact Panhellenic and let them know you if you are still interested in joining a sorority. There will always be some sororities that quietly COB. Even though most of the sororities made quota, there will always be people who will decline to accept a bid or drop after. Some because of finances, some will think they are too good for the sorority that were extended a bid to (good riddance), and some will drop out of college after one semester. Please don't let the Greek Life experience determine your self worth - the Greek Life system here can be fairly toxic. I lucked out and ended up in an amazing sorority, although it is considered a lower tier. My sisters truly are my sisters and I could only wish everyone could have the sisterhood I experience in my sorority.

OP, do not let this change you. Rush is a numbers game and sometimes great girls get lost in the shuffle. Get to know everyone this semester and go through again in the fall. You may find that you are happy without being greek. It's really not that important after pledgingship. You do make great friends but you will make those anyway!! Good luck and let this make you stronger.

Wonder if the OP knows "Brittany" from Miss. State? They posted the exact same thing on the Ole Miss and Ms State greekrank pages, and even posted them on the same day. Odd

Not odd. Just a troll. Probably posted on some more sites too.
