Ok, 3 things

(1) greek life is whatever you make it
fact is most girls do not get their #1 choice. If you get your #1, great. If you don't, but if you go in there with an open mind, you'll enjoy your time. Truth is almost every house is very similar. If you were a popular cheerleader in high school, chances are if you went to a different high school (down the road or a state over) you'll still be the same popular cheerleader there also

(2) Ranks doesn't matter
It's what mom's with nothing going on in life feed their kids and feed greekrank so they can re-live those prime years. I'm in a top house, my mom was in the same top house, my parents come to most home games, and if you followed my mom for the day you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between a sorority sister vs. non-sorority sister between her friends.

(2) enjoy your time, but at the end, none of it matters
Yes, every one is super nice, even fake nice to where it's not them being themselves. Truth is you'll rarely keep up or even talk to your other sisters past graduation. Whole "finding bridesmaid" thing is, just that, they'll be your bridesmaid because they expect you to return the favor and you be their bridesmaid. They'll like your insta pics so you like their pics back, past graduation most girls get rid of social media because the like each other pics agreement falls apart. Basically how irreverent high school is now, is what greek life will be past graduation. Enjoy your time, but move on when it's time to move on. Lot of girls think their sisters were fake because they stop liking their pics or texting after college, truth is they moved on.
