Some of these were girls who were completely cut from rush while a lot of these numbers were girls who chose to drop out because they either didn't like their options or they decided that greek life wasn't for them.

I don't think there's any way to get these numbers but it would probably be even more reassuring to PNMs to see that "dropped" vs. "dropped out" number.

There were women who did not receive bids. However the biggest difference between the registered recruitment number and the extended bid number was due to the personal choice of withdrawing from the recruitment process or suiciding. Usually it takes an extreme grade risk to not receive a bid, but even less desirable grades can be overlooked with the right connections to certain sororities and/or having a stellar resume in spite of the grades.

Recruitment is stressful but can also be fun if you go in with the right attitude. I wouldn't add extra stress by worrying about not receiving a bid. If you really want to be a part of Greek life you should be able to find your home.

I read all the time "have a great resume" - what does that mean??? I'm a rising senior and will be going through recruitment next year. What are we suppose to put on our resume besides GPA, test scores, legacies, athletics and clubs? Any input is welcome- thanks.

Your resume should include everything you just said, and you will want to emphasize leadership opportunities, awards you received, if you volunteered in your community, and anything that might make you stand out in a good way.

You're pretty much right but with one exception: girls who suicide put themselves at risk for not getting a bid. Someone who did this posted above about how this actually does happen.

And I have known of a few girls who somehow fell through the cracks - it's rare, but it has happened and it wasn't because of being released. But for the most part, everyone who rushes - and does not suicide - does get a bid.

My Gamma Chi told me the same thing on pref night 2015. She said the computer automatically kicks you to the bottom of the bid list of the house you suicide. Idk if that was true or if it's just a scare tactic. I wouldn't know because I suicided and was cut but I also had no connections so no surprise there. My Gamma Chi did lie (not sure if it was intentional or not) to me about some stuff and so did other pan people so brush up on the facts of how rush really works if you can talk to an insider. Don't take everything they tell you to the bank.
