College Magazine's top 2 schools for Greek life: 1. Indiana, 2. Alabama.

It is the toughest Rush process in the nation for a reason.

What's your point? Being tough is better, lol?
Just stop with this nonsense,
Congrats you are or were in a house here and you think that's your life's legacy that you made it through...lololololo!

If it were easy - it could not be #1

Yes, Tough is part of being better.

This is not easy, but the fruit is that much sweeter.

Anything worth having is worth fighting for to have it.

Tough does not make #1, but IU is #1 because it is tough.

Tough it out - it is worth it!

Who in the world would electively call themselves "Blood Sweat and Tears" CheeseBall. Or a desperate housewife longing for her glory days of college recruitment.....how pathetic!

Again someone is holding on too hard to the fact that they got a bid during their recruitment too, hey I did too and I had a full schedule of housed chapters through preference, so did my sister, and best friends,,,,help me if I'm on this site when I graduate chiming into how the best thing that's happened in my life was getting through IU recruitment..strive mp for more!

How many African Americans are in IU frats/sororitys? Very few and almost all in lower tier. Not s good comparison

Imagine how much more competitive Alabama's Rush would be if they started setting their quota to 50 (or less like IU sororitys have done)? We can't compare. Placement rate does not make you #1. Commitment to each other, service and your university does. I believe Aubufn is the best. Their Greek life still has tiers but they are still supportive of all groups and don't try to tear each other down constantly. Seriously check out their GR. They're amazing!

Are you serious? At Alabama they literally were not allowed to accept any. Any. Zero. It was only because the national media exposed them and their nationals forced integration on them. This is a horrible Greek system to hold up as an example.

Definitely not saying it's good. It's pretty terrible in fact. Just pointing out that IU is not great in that regard either. Very few if any minorities in upper tier here.

Alabama had 2442 women begin rush and pledged 2261 in 18 chapters. That's a statistic to be proud of.

Nothing to brag about. They did not integrate voluntarily. Shameful.

They probably don't realize we make our own rules to make it the faux toughest. If we followed the same rules, we would not be.

Many magazines due rankings for the simple fact that they sell more magazines. I think Indiana earns a high ranking (for many years) due to the Little 500. "Breaking Away" is still a bit of a cult film and it really catches on and shows how Greeks can compete (against non-Greeks) in a bike competition. Greek life at colleges in the South can be very different. For one, remember freshman year at IU when you didn't quite know what a sorority was? In the South, there are many high school sororities-- so 1st year college women might have already been in a different type of sorority. If you don't believe me, just go visit Greek life on your next road trip. I would recommend, for a major difference in culture Ole Miss in Oxford, Mississippi.

Many southern school sororities have it in their bylaws that same school legacies must be given a bid. Legacies are much more important in the south.

IU is a terrible system. Any places that uses recruitment to haze PNMs the way you do is awful. I am ashamed that my sorority is part of the IU system.

I am sick of people asking how many African americans are in I U sororities. Well, let me ask, how many African American's go through rush? Not many. There are chapters that are only for African American's. May I ask how many white girls are in those houses? Give me a break and yes, there are African American girls in top houses and they are picked on the same standards as everyone else. Stop already with the race cards.

by: BaloneyJan 19, 2016 3:01:35 PM

IU sororities are not African American friendly and I can count on 1 hand how many I know in NPC sororities. Indiana as a state is not AA friendly - neither is IU.
