parents pay for college

by: Yes

Obviously if your parents are paying for you to go to UMich you were not smart enough to get a scholarship to Indiana and save some money.

Most likely any person that gets into Michigan from OOS will also receive merit scholarship money from IU. Both are solid academic schools with a big 10 experience, but you can't deny that most people would choose the better academic standing of Michigan if their parents were WILLING AND ABLE to pay for it. Key words.

When a college offers you merit money isn't because they're trying to bribe you to spend 4 years around people dumber than you. I prefer to be around intellectual peers, not Indiana rubes. Taking a merit scholarship from a non peer school is short money

That's your choice. I am not sure why you are ranting on this site. Go to Michigan if you like it better. Everyone picks a school for their own personal reasons.
