Every house, every year, every group changes

by: realityseeker

All houses bring happiness in their own way. From the outside, it might seem like some houses are “better,” but the truth is, everyone ends up loving the house they call home—because it’s theirs. Yes, girls will be girls. There will be good days and tough days in college, moments when you need a sister at 2 a.m., and times when it’s not about the conflict but about understanding and growing from it.

What stays constant, though, are the values, the reputation, and the connections that extend far beyond college. Joining a sorority with a strong foundation, a respected alumni network, and universal recognition can play a big role in shaping your future. The girls you meet in your house will be the ones who create your chapter, your memories, and your lifelong friendships. Stories about years past don’t define your experience—what matters is the people who fill the house now and how they make it feel like home.

It’s easy to get caught up in outside opinions or fake posts on Greek Rank (and yes, half of those “girls” stirring the pot are just guys having fun pretending to be us). But all houses have amazing girls, offer the chance to build strong friendships, instill meaningful values, and make an impact in the community.

Trust your instincts, ladies. Look at the houses and choose the one you connect with most, but also think about the big picture. Research the sisterhood’s alumni network and reputation—it’s about more than just four years; it’s about a lifelong bond, connections and alumni network. Look at local chapters and sisterhood in cities where you live. There are friends of mine that were hired because their interviewer was also a _____

Every house has a mix of personalities, so focus on where you feel you belong and connect with the philanthropy. If the work they do speaks to you, let that guide your choice.

At the end of the day, everyone will laugh, everyone will have fun at parties, and everyone will be part of a community. The key is finding the place that feels like your home. 💙

Good luck on bid day and may you get a house you can call home next year.
