sophomore rush and gpa
by: soph rushok, so i changed my major around 3 times and had to drop rush last year due to some family member passing. i was to rush again as a sophomore and my gpa is the minimum requirement, will that effect me? i don’t know that many girls in chapters but i just want a chance. what sororities are open to sophomores like gphi, dz, zeta, kappa delta, alpha phi, axid, agd? i dropped during philo and i had dz, i’m not sure if i got called back but i do really like them, or what others are open to taking sophomores.

My advice (for you and other sophomore+ PNMs):
1. Woman up and go through women’s recruitment to see how things work out. Rush is different every year so no one knows how pledge classes will turn out.
2. Leave this ”beta” energy in 2024. You have a lot of excuses and most of them will be a huge turnoff if you share them while being rushed (losing a family member is a fair excuse though and I’m sorry for your loss).
3. You “didn’t get DZ” because you didn’t get a bid from them after pref. I’m sure you shared this point to give us a sense of your quality as a PNM but make sure you don’t have a chip on your shoulder and a narrow focus when you go through rush.
Keep an open mind and things will “work out.”
