Has nothing to do with that. If you were high enough on their bid list to match with your #1 before they matched to quota then you got that bid. If not then your name went around to your #2 and if you were high enough on their bid list before they matched to quota then got that bid. If you didn't match to either one then you were placed as a quota addition at either house. You have a higher chance of getting your #1 but it has nothing to do with stupid ranks.
