Does anyone else not like their house?
by: ughim starting to dislike my sorority so much. i originally joined mine thinking it was gonna be the time of my life, especially cause we are upper mid but since living in i just don’t feel the same anymore. all i see is fake people around me. All the girls I talk to our friendships are so superficial. we’re more party friends than anything. maybe that’s a theme for a lot of houses, where most “friendships” are nothing more than a hey what’s up when we last each other. but I just feel alone and needed to put this out somewhere. anyone else going through this? Srat or frat?

its so sad I feel like we're all party friends and when were drunk we all get along but other than that I don't feel genuinely close to anyone in my house. iu greek life is known to be the worst and we all know we aren't staying close with any of these people beyond college. when u ask us superficial questions during rush and judge us based on our picture and insta accounts how do u expect us to actually find people we get along with?? I feel closer to my high school friend group. most of these people are so demotivated too, im here for a career and half of these people are passed out every night of the week.

iu greek life is toxic af. greek life only really matters freshman and sophomore year after that its irrelevant. people that are obsessed with their frats or sororities or tiers just peaked in college and its embaressing. everyone at iu just cares about popularity when really most of these people will be unemployed. nobody cares about brotherhood or sisterhood and its really sad. wish I had known iu greek life would be like this before coming to this school

Wow this was refreshing to read. I have no feeling of connectedness to my frat at all. Socializing within my frat and at our parties feels so empty and shallow that I go home feeling lonely as hell. No feeling of connectedness whatsoever, even if I have good convos and a good time, sht feels so pointless. Not sure what to make of it. :/

THIS IS SO TRUE^^^ i literally love my hometown friends who are authentically people I enjoy and know. so so true here at Greek life these are literally just people i post w and act like they’re my besties when in reality we don’t know jack sht about each other. im finding a way to live out for junior year and then I’m done w it tbh

honestly didn't need greek life to help me make friends bc these aren't people Im genuinely close with or ppl who know anything real about me. pregaming and getting drunk and partying tg doesn't mean u actually know someone so theres no point to this. my high school friends and dorm mates are closer w/ me. in my house I think theres maybe 1 or 2 people I fw
