informal recruitment

So I wasn't around for formal sorority recruitment this year and as a sophomore that was kind of my last chance to rush. However, someone told me something about an informal recruitment? I'm certainly not opposed to checking out the newest sorority on campus, but I'm curious as to whether it's my only option. What is informal recruitment exactly? How does it work? Who participates? I know a bunch of girls in chapters already if that's necessary.
And before everyone starts referring me to panhel and rho gammas, etc, I'm asking about informal rush because I want to know the real deal with it rather than the polished details on the PHA website. If you know any relevant tips or facts then please share! Thanks everyone

If you know a bunch of girls in sororities, ask them. If there is a spot or two to fill for whatever reason it's usually quiet and done with friends of members.

Oh and honestly because of your class I think the new sorority is probably your best chance.

Every chapter but one made quota. BUT some girls could drop this weekend when they have to start paying fees. If you have friends in chapters, let them know ASAP you're interested. If a house only has one opening they are going to fill is fast with someone they know. If you are interested, be sure to register online for an interview with DPhiE.
