as a Sig Ep brother, we are well rounded

by:

Stop the hate on our house. The most difficult part about the transition from being a drinking club to a substance free club is making the philosophical shift in the community. Most of our former brothers did not sign up for a desert dry chapter with zero pong tables or Fireball shots. The National frat is supporting our chapter leaders who are bought into making Sig Ep substance free. We are confident that we are on the right path. We have strong brotherhood with real accountability when brothers make any bad choice. Overall, our morals and brothers supersede most other fraternities on this campus by displaying diligence, brotherly love, and virtue.

Sig Ep is similar to that of a coed service, professional and academic fraternity.

OK basically Sig Ep is a dry and irrelevant fraternity. Nuff said.

SigEp announced these changes a few yrs ago. If guys don’t like the SigEp rules, it seems like pledging a different frat makes sense. There are still several options on campus.

Maybe taking alcohol out of the Sig Ep will work like prohibition and push students to riskier and more dangerous and criminal behaviors in other locations?

SigEp is a Residential Learning Community - RLC - which means that we’re one of the best SigEp chapters in the country when it comes to providing members with the environment to develop personally and professionally. Joining SigEp will help you get what you want out of college

The fear that so many fraternities are showing towards live-in mentors is shocking. SigEp’s Residential Learning Community complements the Balanced Man Program by advocating strong personal and academic development programming, daily mentorship, and a supportive living and learning environment. Our RLC shows that students benefit from the presence of a resident scholar and a faculty member who take an active interest in their lives. This learning community concept is descended from the residential colleges at the Universities of Cambridge and Oxford. Our RLC fosters the development of positive, healthy habits rather than destructive traits of a “frat boy.”

Will somebody tell those dweebs at Sig Ep to stop talking about their “balanced individual program” on here 😂, you’re a fraternity that doesn’t have events with alcohol and you let’s chicks in now also, you’re a sorority basically💀😂😂

The administration is going to continue to target fraternities like Sig Ep because they are hoping to expand campus and build academic buildings or dorms on the areas currently occupied by Greek houses. Sororities need to watch it too. Think about it. Where else can campus expand while also maintaining its compact nature?

I'm currently a senior here and I can confirm our greeklife has gone down the drain since
my freshman year.

I got kicked out of my house at the end of my sophomore year, and a few other fraternities have been kicked off as well.

There used to be houses throwing parties almost every day of the week every single week. Now it's kinda rare. Most houses are on probation and the ones that aren't will get smacked by auditors so they have to have date parties at venues more frequently, which are more expensive, harder to put together, and less fun.

I'm glad I got a good first two years. But it is not what it used to be.

Guys, IU defines everything has "hazing." Something like pledge rides, which saves countless lives reducing DUI, will get you in trouble. All groups engage in some form of hazing under the IU definition. If and when they want you gone, you'll be gone. Now that Little 5 is officially dead, probably only a few years left. Good luck.

SigEp has a mission to better the world through better men - Balanced Men. Essentially, we’re trying to create a different fraternity that differs from the normal frat that we see. We differ from the stereotype of being fratty. We want to create something in our own legacy that leaves an impact on our campus community.

SigEp's Balanced Man Program is exactly what young men need TODAY... and that’s a continuous, self-paced development experience focused on sobriety, leadership, and life skills that complements a university’s classroom curriculum. The refinement of these crucial skills helps SigEp brothers succeed upon graduation and prepares them to achieve balance and satisfaction in every aspect of their lives.

Shouldn't even be called a real fraternity. Sign a paper and you're in, don't have to earn letters at all and will accept anyone with a good GPA. Not a true brotherhood in the least bit. Dry house even for those older than 21.
